Councilman Kevin Melvin

Councilman Kevin Melvin moved to New Jersey to attend Rutgers University and has worked in the state since graduating with a degree in animal science. He and his wife Reni moved to Pohatcong in 2005 and established Stone Manor Farm in the lower end of the Township. Both Kevin and Reni have been very active in the community serving on town boards and committees along with volunteering in a number of outside organizations. In 2014, Kevin was appointed to the Pohatcong Land Use Board as the Mayor’s designee. The following year he was appointed as a Class IV member and elected Vice Chairman by the Land Use Board members; a position which he maintained until being appointed to the Township Council. That same year Kevin was appointed to the Pohatcong Economic Development Commission and has been the chair since 2017. Kevin has also served on the Pohatcong Open Space Committee.
